Numerous media outlets are confirming that famous actress Debbie Reynolds has died, just one day after her daughter Carrie Fisher.
According to Reynolds’ son Todd Fisher, the stress of Carrie’s death “was too much” for Reynolds. Other family friends described Reynolds as “distraught” since her daughter’s passing.
In fact, according to TMZ, Reynolds may have been in the midst of planning her daughter’s funeral when she began complaining of breathing difficulty and had to be whisked away.
TMZ also reports that Reynolds’ last words were “I want to be with Carrie.”
“She’s now with Carrie and we’re all heartbroken,” said Todd Fisher, adding that his mother’s reunion with Carrie was the only good thing about the loss.
Many fans and colleagues of Reynolds and Fisher are expressing similarly heartbroken sentiments.
News of Debbie’s passing has, of course, brought up plenty of talk about the ‘curse of 2016’ which appears to have claimed so many celebrities.
According to the BBC, Reynolds is best known for starring in the 1952 musical Singin’ in the Rain. She also found favor with millennials as Aggie Cromwell in Disney’s Halloweentown series.
